Away we went

We are back!

We spent a few days in the Carolinas with good friends, good food and lots of laughter.

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving as well.

I love these mustaches on a stick! Of course I had to have a few myself, but decided I could make them myself. Very easy and super fast. A little modeling clay and a stick... voila!

Sneak Peek for Brooklyn's Mommy

I knew we were getting along when we were citing lines back and forth from our favorite children's book - "The Pigeon Finds A Hot Dog".

"Each morsel a joy of celebration. A taste sensation."

"What a minute!"

This is our Jakeys first real school picture. He started Kindergarten this year.

I love how cheesy this picture is. Totally school picture material.

The cheesy grin. His hair parted in a way it has never been. The bright colors. I just love it!

The picture means a lot to us. We have been struggling with the decision to send him to Kindergarten or hold him back for a year.

Something in me told me to send him.

The first two to three weeks were rough. Lots of tears. His tears and mine. He only knew maybe two letters, had no interest whatsoever to learn anything. He hated going, got in trouble... he just wasn't the sweet Jakey in school we knew at home.

His teacher and I really worked together. We made a plan and we succeeded.

He wrote it all by himself. 3 months ago he didn't even know how to draw a heart.

We are exploding with pride for him!

He is my first birth photography baby. He is so stinking cute and I was super excited to see him and his family again.

We did this session in a coffee house/ private library.

The light was amazing in there!

like a dream

I have a list (I am a list maker) of dream sessions. On top of the list is doing a session in a field with a bed.

Until the last minute I wasn't sure if I could pull it off but at the end everything worked out!





The kids had so much fun I think they would have totally slept that night there.

Next on the list - a session in a Laundromat! Any takers?

We made it

We made it. Finn is one! We are both alive - Finn & I.

What a year! It wasn't easy but soooo worth it!

Finn has been working since he was a day shy of turning 10 months. The same day he discovered how to climb. Especially our coffee table is his jungle jim of choice.

He loves to be chased by his older brother. Loves to "wash" his hands in toilet bowl. He likes bananas and yogurt. He is now 23 pounds and 32 inches.

He has the cutest laugh and his eyes are just full of fun and excitement for life.

He likes to snuggle with Daddy at night... a little too much. He will stay wake sometimes 2-3 times a night to be close to us... even if he is already IN bed with us, he wants to sleep on top of us.

He loves his horsie... which we nicknamed "Stinky Horse".
