Strawberry Picking

A friend convinced me to go strawberry picking with her. At first I wasn't sure if that was a good idea. For one, the idea of taking Finn somewhere where he can destroy something (In this case the strawberries) wasn't very appealing and second, our kids really dislike strawberries.

I thought about it, I decided to go and change my expectations. I am just going for fun and who cares how much I actually get to pick.

I didn't pick that much but I probably ate 2 pounds in strawberries. They were so so so good!

Hello Annie - Cincinnati Newborn Photographer

I photographed Annie's brother first year of life, plus some, her birth and will also photograph her first year. So, you will be seeing lots of this little girl!



Annie's Mommy asked for specifically for these two shots!

How to catch a rabbit in 4 easy steps

There is a tiny rabbit that comes to visit us every afternoon.
Both boys have their mind set on catching this rabbit and making it a pet.
So, Jake put up a trap and explained to me "the 4 steps of catching a rabbit"

First

get a carrot

Second

put the carrot in the grass (the orange in the grass is from me spray painting something that day)

Third

get a bucket, box, tub, etc

Forth

Hold the bucket up with a stick


Voila.... we are still waiting for that rabbit to get the carrot ;)

Little League Baseball - Cincinnati Event Photography

Because of some scheduling conflict with the Leagues Photographer, Jake's coach asked me to take the kid's pictures.

First time I photographed something like this and it was a lot of fun.

It was very hard to get these boys to smile. I was told a few times that they want to look "cool".

Well, they do look pretty cool!

Dinostars! Musical

A few weeks ago Jake was in his class Musical... the Dinostars! It was so cute and I totally got teary eyed, even though I promised Scot I wouldn't.
I also got suckered in buying the $25 DVD of the show. But how could I NOT buy it? My kids first musical!

Anyways, a few days before my trip to the Big Apple a note was sent home from school, saying that we need to make the kid's dinosaur costumes ourselves, problem was the musical was already two days after I got back from the trip.

Poor Jake was getting a little nervous that he might not have a costume. But I pulled it off... the day before the musical my best friend watched Finn in the morning and I made Jake his costume. Not bad for last minute, huh?

I wish I would have taken a picture of his back, because I attached this huge tail to his hoodie. I think it really turned out well and was super easy to make.

Jake did a fantastic job and again Scot and I are wondering where the last 7 years went...

Art Show

Jake's school had an Under Water Art Show.
It was really, really cool. I wasn't sure what I expected but what these kids did blew my mind. The halls were decorated with all kinds of sea creatures made out of all kinds of material.

Jake's class Deep Sea Exhibit. Basically a big box, with a few holes all around it... like this one:


 

when you look inside you see glow in the dark sea creatures. This was sooo cool and I am so proud of Jake!



Big applause to the schools Art teacher. She did a great job putting everything together and helping the kids out.

Btw I had a quick chat with her and she told me that her mother helped her one day in Jake's class and her mother is still talking about "what a hoot" Jake is.

Jake was very upset he couldn't go with me to NYC. Even though he has already been, he can't remember anything and really wants to see everything again.
This trip it wasn't possible for him to come but I promised him that we will go again soon.
BUT I did take his buddy Woody with me and took pictures of buddy in front of the sights for Jake.

First Game

After many rain outs today was finally Jake's first baseball game and he surprised all of us on how well he did!
He did some really important plays and it was a lot of fun watching him on the field.
Every time he saw me he said "Hope you have a good time watching the game" or "Hope you are having a great time taking pictures". He even said to the coach "Have a great time coaching!" He is such a sweet heart!

Finn was not bad... we usually have a really hard time taking him to places like this because he just runs, runs and runs. He was fine today even though he ran out on the field and Scot had to chase him down during the game.
